Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Structural Bridge Engineer to lead and contribute to highway and railway bridge projects across markets. You will perform advanced analyses, design, and documentation while collaborating with senior staff and multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 5+ years of experience, and PE licensure; SE registration or progress toward it is preferred. DOT project experience is a plus and mentorship will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural coursework is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering roles.
• PE registration is required; SE registration preferred.
• IDOT NBIS Bridge Inspections Team Leader is preferred.
• Experience with DOT bridge design practices and standards.
• Project experience with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, FDOT and TxDOT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in leading bridge projects within Hanson's Infrastructure Market.
• Perform complex engineering calculations and use software tools for analysis and design.
• Collaborate with senior staff and multidisciplinary teams on national projects.
• Conduct structural analysis, prepare specs, details and construction plans.
• Assign duties, manage project budgets, and mentor staff.
• Prepare and review calculations, quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Support project pursuits and proposal development.
• Assist in developing project scopes and fee proposals.
