Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a seasoned Structural Bridge Engineer in the United States to lead highway and railway bridge projects within the Infrastructure Market.

You will perform complex analyses, design, and prepare construction plans while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with senior teams. The role requires a PE, 5+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and related codes.

Qualifications

• :Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural coursework is required.
• :
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering or related field.
• :
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required; SE registration preferred.
• :
• IDOT NBIS Bridge Inspections Team Leader (preferred).
• :
• Experience with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, FDOT, and TxDOT projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in leading bridge projects within Hanson’s Infrastructure Market.
• Perform complex engineering calculations and use software for analysis and design.
• Collaborate with senior staff and multidisciplinary teams on national projects.
• Conduct structural analysis and design, prepare specs, details, and construction plans.
• Assign duties, manage project budgets, and mentor junior staff.
• Prepare and review calculations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
• Support project pursuits and proposal development.
• Assist in developing project scopes and fee proposals.
• Other duties as assigned.
