Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer for the Commercial and Investment, Merchant Services team. You will lead a team, drive resiliency design reviews, and mentor engineers while shaping reliability practices across platforms.

The role emphasizes strong expertise in observability, CI/CD, container orchestration, and AI-enabled incident response. You will partner with stakeholders to define SLIs/SLAs and guide technical decisions to prevent outages and financial losses.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts.
5+ years applied experience in reliability, scalability, performance, security, and enterprise architecture.
Proficiency in Python, Java/Spring Boot, or .Net.
Experience using enterprise AI capabilities in SRE workflows with validation.
Ability to evaluate AI-assisted recommendations for correctness and risk with guardrails.

Responsibilities

Leads site reliability culture, documents and shares knowledge internally.
Drives reliability improvements using data-driven analytics to improve service levels.
Coordinates with stakeholders to define SLIs/organizations for SRE and error budgets.
Uses enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage, troubleshooting and post-incident analysis.
Acts as main incident contact to quickly diagnose issues and minimize financial impact.
Mentors engineers and shares expertise across domains.
Leads adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across SDLC/toolchain practices.
