Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician to install, program, start up, certify, and train customers on fire, security, and building automation projects of varying complexity. You will act as the primary technical interface, ensure quality and safety, and mentor junior staff as needed.

You will collaborate with project teams to meet schedules and budgets, apply your knowledge to system start-ups, commissioning, and training, and help maximize customer satisfaction across multiple

Qualifications

• Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Installs, programs, tests, and services a variety of security, fire alarm & life safety, and building automation systems.
• Reads blueprints, schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams to determine installation requirements.
• Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, and identify malfunctions.
• Mentor and train less experienced staff; supervise subcontractors and installation work as needed.
• Prepare submittals, shop drawings, training documentation, programming, graphics development, startup, certification testing, and close-out documentation.
