Job summary

Convergint Technologies, LLC is seeking a full-time Security Technician to install, program, startup, certify and train customers on security, fire/life-safety and building automation systems. You will work on projects ranging from small to large and collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong customer-service mindset, hands-on programming ability, and experience with security systems.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid technical skills with fire alarm and/or electronic security systems.
• Strong programming skills and troubleshooting ability.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Reads blueprints/drawings and uses hand tools.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills including MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel).
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel locally; some overnight travel.
• Must have security experience with basic programming.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair and service security systems and related equipment.
• Provide customer training and maximize satisfaction on projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Commission new systems and analyze performance; document results.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with project/operations managers.
• Identify project risks and help implement cost-control measures.
• Support engineering with troubleshooting and product improvements.
