Job summary

AES Clean Energy (ACE) O&M is seeking a Lead Technical Trainer to develop and manage a renewable training program for Solar, Wind and Battery technicians. You will support the Senior Manager of Technical Training, coordinating and delivering training across field operations and corporate teams.

The role focuses on increasing site safety and reliability through structured training, with hands-on and remote delivery, and collaboration with OEMs to align curriculums. 25% travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of field experience in hands-on operations and maintenance of utility-scale PV or PV+BESS sites.
• Experience on 3 or more different utility-scale PV sites.
• Central inverter maintenance and medium voltage transformer troubleshooting.
• Diagnosing PV modules and ground faults.
• 3+ years in technical training, peer-mentorship, or curriculum development.
• 2+ years as a senior technician in O&M of PV or PV+BESS sites.
• 2+ years with a energy corporation or utility managing PV/PV+BESS sites.
• Certified on 2+ central inverter OEM trainings.
• Preferred LMS/e-learning tool experience.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior Manager of Training on executing the vision and managing the program.
• Lead training content development for digital formats, virtual and in-person.
• Develop and vet content with subject matter experts for curriculum development.
• Review, edit, and improve training content (internal and outsourced).
• Anticipate new technologies to integrate into training.
• Manage OEM training with vendors across 6 regions and track completions.
• Provide remote and hands-on training and technical assistance.
• Lead deployment of in-person training formats and mentor-trainer culture.
• Ensure training coverage across topics and maintain material relevance.
