Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager – Transmission & Distribution to lead complex utility projects from pursuit through closeout.

You will direct transmission, distribution, and substation work, manage safety, costs, and schedules, and ensure client satisfaction in field environments across multiple sites. The role requires 2–7+ years in construction PM within power delivery, strong leadership, and travel willingness.

Qualifications

• 2–7+ years of experience in construction project management within transmission, distribution, utility, or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, and field execution.
• Strong knowledge of T&D construction methods, sequencing, and project delivery.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with project management/scheduling software (Primavera P6, HCSS, MS Project, or similar).
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel and support long‑term onsite project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through estimating, bidding, execution, and closeout phases.
• Manage transmission, distribution, and substation construction activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, field leadership, and internal project teams.
• Develop and maintain strong client and utility relationships.
• Track and manage project costs, forecasts, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Support project planning for transmission line construction, distribution system upgrades, and substation scopes.
• Promote and model Michels’ safety‑first culture.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and operational feedback.
