Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager – Transmission & Distribution to lead execution of complex utility infrastructure projects, from pursuit through closeout, in a field-based environment across transmission, distribution, and substation work.

You will own scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and client utilities, with 2–7+ years of PM experience and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 2–7+ years of experience in construction project management.
• Experience in transmission, distribution, utility, or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage scope, cost, schedule, and field execution.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for onsite assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through estimating, bidding, execution, and closeout phases.
• Manage transmission, distribution, and substation construction activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, field leadership, and internal project teams.
• Develop and maintain strong client and utility relationships.
• Track and manage project costs, forecasts, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Support project planning for transmission line construction, distribution system upgrades, and substation scopes.
• Promote Michels’ safety-first culture.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned.
