Job summary

Eaton Corporation's Power Systems Controls group is seeking an engineer to lead development, testing, and deployment of PLC and HMI software for power transfer applications, including Main-Tie-Main etc. The role combines design, testing, and field support in a hybrid setting.

Requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 7+ years (or Master's with 5+ years, or 10 years total) in power distribution controls, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum 7 years of power distribution controls experience OR Master’s degree with at least 5 years OR a minimum 10 years of power distribution controls experience.
• Current, unrestricted driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record; may require motor vehicle record check upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for Power Transfer applications (Main-Tie-Main, Main-Gen, etc.).
• Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and create bill of materials.
• Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers to develop project drawings.
• Prepare SOOs and test procedures for customer submittals.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
• Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.
