Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel & Trailer Mechanic to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced mechanical diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. You will work on light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, using a TRAIT iOS app to document work and coordinate with customers.

The role requires a strong tool kit and DOT/FMCSA familiarity, with safety-compliant operations and a focus on high-quality repairs and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma/GED with 3–7 years in related field or equivalent
• Possesses and can supply a set of hand tools
• DOT regulations and FMCSA training preferred or required within 18 months

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on mobile fleet
• Diagnose, repair, and test trailer and truck equipment in field conditions
• Utilize tools and diagnostics to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Maintain and operate company service truck and complete RO documentation via TRAIT/iOS
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and update customers
