Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field environment.

You will lead on-site diagnostics, triage complex repairs, and act as a consultant to customers and Technicians. The role requires strong knowledge of electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems, plus the ability to document findings via the TRAIT app and manage equipment and parts on the service truck.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related experience considered.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance required; DOT medical card may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical/brake/cooling systems, engines, transmissions and related components.
• Inspect and test equipment using handheld devices and gauges; road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory on service trucks; document findings and RO in TRAIT app.
• Coordinate with management for approvals on estimates and purchase orders; maintain safety standards.
