Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex diagnostics for our on‑site fleet support network. The role includes servicing light to heavy‑duty trucks and trailers, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and customer communication.

Ideal candidates will have ASE certifications or equivalent experience, possess hand tools, and maintain a DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required with 3 years in related field or 5 years in related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment or relevant mobile/diesel work.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• OEM training and certifications preferred.
• DOT regulations compliance and DOT physical requirements prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Conduct repairs and diagnostics on electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, including diesel components.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment using test instruments and on‑site diagnostics.
• Maintain and operate the service truck, perform safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.
• Document work and parts used in the TRAIT app and coordinate with management on repair estimates.
