Job summary

Cox Fleet, part of Cox Automotive Inc., is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and serve as a lead on jobsites.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years in a related field, with ASE/DOT certifications preferred. Strong diagnostics, safety compliance, and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years in a related field, or alternative combination including higher degree/certification
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
• Own a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties
• OEM training and certifications are preferred
• DOT/regulatory pre-employment screening and DOT physical may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation
• Obtain parts from approved vendors and manage inventory on the service truck
