Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics in a mobile/field setting.

You will lead on-site service by conducting repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks, manage parts and documentation, and ensure safety standards are met at customer locations. The role requires ASE certifications within 18 months, a valid CDL, and the ability to work independently with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' related field experience (or equivalent combination)
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months and ASE 608/609 within 18 months
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screening and DOT physical when required
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment
• Perform electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems repairs; diagnose and triage complex issues
• Test and inspect vehicles using handheld devices and pressure gauges; road test to verify repairs
• Maintain and manage parts inventory and service truck supplies
• Document work and upload RO findings and parts used via TRAIT app
