Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting. You will lead jobsites, mentor technicians, and interface with customers to ensure high-quality service.

The role requires ASE certifications within 18 months, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently while managing parts/inventory, safety documentation, and timely communication with the Mobile Technician Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related field experience.
• 7+ years in a related field or 5+ years with a degree/certification.
• Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Must obtain ASE 608/609 within 18 months.
• Must obtain ASE C1 (Service Consultant) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• 21+ years old; valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs on mobile/field vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, cooling, braking, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment; road test to verify repairs.
• Lead jobsites, mentor technicians, and communicate with management.
• Manage parts inventory and company vehicle; upload RO data via TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms and documentation accurately; work independently.
