Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs in a mobile/field setting across customer fleets.

You’ll lead on-site diagnostics, triage, and customer communications, while managing parts on the service truck and documenting findings using TRAIT. Strong adherence to safety, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years in a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge; DOT physical requirements.
• DOT physical or medical card and pre-employment screenings.
• Valid driver’s license and age 21+.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on mobile/field vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and related systems.
• Road test to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck stock; document RO in TRAIT app.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain approvals.
