Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PM inspections, and advanced mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, repair, and triage complex issues, often acting as the lead on site and coordinating with customers for approvals and estimates.

Responsibilities include maintaining the service truck, managing parts, and ensuring compliance with DOT and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years’ related experience.
• Experience with refrigerated equipment a must.
• Own hand tools to perform duties; OEM training preferred.
• DOT/FMCSA regulated duties require completion of pre-employment screenings.
• DOT medical card or DOT physical required as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Carry out repairs across electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drive systems.
• Diagnose and triage complex issues; provide expert guidance on diagnostics.
• Inspect, test, and test-drive vehicles to verify proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work orders using company devices.
• Adhere to safety policies, OSHA/DOT regulations, and company standards.
