Job summary

Cox Fleet in the United States seeks a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections and extensive diagnostics in a mobile field setting. You will lead jobsites, mentor other technicians, and coordinate with the Mobile Technician Manager.

Responsibilities include PM, repairs, and on-site customer interaction, with 100% travel and weekend availability as needed. A strong toolset and ASE certifications are required, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED with 7 years’ experience; or higher degree/certification with 5–9 years’ related experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE certifications (T8 PMI, 608/609, C1) within 18 months; valid DOT medical card if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and road test vehicles to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Manage parts inventory and use company-issued devices to document repairs.
