Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose, repair, and road-test various truck systems while mentoring junior technicians and coordinating with management on estimates.

The role emphasizes customer interaction, safety compliance, and independent daily scheduling, with travel to customer sites and adherence to DOT/EPA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with several years of diesel experience.
• ASE certifications within 18 months of employment.
• DOT/FMCSA background screening and DOT physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs for light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Maintain inventory on service truck and document RO findings via TRAIT app.
• Mentor Mobile Diesel Technicians and assist with QC inspections.
• Communicate with management for repair estimates and approvals.
