Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, including modification packages, drawings, and analyses. Responsibilities include leading project teams, visiting client sites, and developing engineering cost estimates for mid-sized scopes.

Qualifications

• BSME with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board-accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the power industry
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of power plants

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants
• Prepare functional mechanical drawings and drawings for nuclear power plant systems
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems
• Prepare procurement documents and technical specifications for plant equipment
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment
• Study options for modifications to operating nuclear power plants
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-work scopes
• Visit client offices and/or plant sites to interface with the client and present engineering tasks and status
• Lead engineering project teams
