Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior mechanical or chemical engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design. The role involves preparing or reviewing modification packages, technical drawings, and calculations essential for plant operations.

You will lead project teams, develop cost estimates, and interface with clients at sites or offices, with a three-days-in-office, two-days-remote hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer coursework.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear power plant mechanical design.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering project teams and interface with clients.
• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants and associated drawings.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
