Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in a hybrid role with three days in the office and two remote days. You will contribute to systems design, prepare modification packages, drawings, analyses, and procurement documents for operating nuclear plants.

The role also involves cost estimating, client site visits, and leading engineering project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A minimum of 3 years of applicable experience.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Create or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Perform vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment.
• Conduct studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
• Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and present engineering task status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
