Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an engineer for nuclear power plant systems design in a hybrid work setting. The role includes developing modification packages, creating and reviewing mechanical drawings, and performing analyses to support plant operations.

You will also prepare specifications, evaluate vendor bids, and participate in projects from initiation to client presentations. Leadership of project teams and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A minimum of 1 year of engineering experience or an MS degree.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support nuclear power plant systems design, including modification packages.
• Prepare or review mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Conduct engineering analyses to support plant modifications and operations.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate modification options for operating plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
• Interface with client offices/sites and present engineering tasks/status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
