Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, modification packages, and related analyses. The role involves preparation or review of technical drawings, specifications, and vendor evaluations, with opportunities to lead project teams.

The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work three days per week, with flexibility for remote work two days.

Qualifications

BSME with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from a Canadian EAB-accredited undergrad program or ABET-accredited US program.
10+ years of experience in the power industry.
Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
Prior commercial nuclear industry experience.
P.Eng license is valued but not required.
Active Ontario Power Generation (OPG) security clearance is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

Design and modify nuclear power plant systems and components.
Prepare or review modification packages for operating plants.
Create and review functional mechanical drawings and drawings for plant systems.
Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
Visit client offices and plant sites to interface with clients and present engineering progress.
Lead engineering project teams.
