Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior mechanical or chemical engineer to design and review nuclear power plant systems. The role involves modification packages, drawings, analyses, and procurement documents, with oversight of vendor bids and modification studies.

The position supports a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to lead project teams, interface with clients, and develop cost estimates for client-requested work scopes.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical or chemical engineering degree.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify nuclear power plant systems and components.
• Prepare or review modification packages and mechanical drawings for plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate modification options for operating plants.
• Lead engineering project teams and interface with clients during visits.
