Jabil in Prince George, Virginia, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Low Voltage (LV) switchgear to own the mechanical design from concept through production release, ensuring safety, cost, and manufacturability.

You will lead enclosure, busbar, thermal, and DFx activities, collaborate with global teams, and ensure compliance with UL/IEC standards while guiding design reviews and field issue resolutions.

Qualifications

• Lead mechanical engineering execution for LV switchgear from concept to production release.
• Strong CAD proficiency and knowledge of sheet metal, busbars, and enclosure design.
• Familiarity with UL/IEC/NEMA standards and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design and architecture of LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and deliverables.
• Lead enclosure systems, busbar support, insulation interfaces, and safety features.
• Drive thermal design, CFD analysis, and thermal validation testing.
• Lead design transfer and manufacturing readiness across global sites.
• Ensure compliance with UL 891, UL 1558, NEC, IEC 61439, and customer requirements.
