Jabil in Prince George, Virginia, is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer - LV Switchgear. You will act as the senior mechanical authority, guiding architecture, validation, and lifecycle support for LV switchgear across multiple programs.

You will partner with customers, global teams, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality to meet safety, cost, and performance targets, while leading DFx initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including LV switchgear experience.
• Senior technical leadership across multiple NPI programs or product platforms.
• Advanced CAD proficiency (Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor) with complex assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical architecture strategy for LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Translate requirements into scalable specifications, roadmaps and release deliverables.
• Lead design decisions for enclosure systems, busbar, insulation, and mechanical interfaces.
• Guide concept development, prototype builds, validation, and production release across programs.
• Provide technical direction for thermal design, CFD, and validation planning.
• Ensure compliance with UL/IEC/NEMA/IEEE standards and design-for-manufacturing goals.
