Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a lead designer to supervise a team of designers and provide technical direction for electrical and instrumentation deliverables. You will ensure on-time delivery, adherence to performance budgets, and high quality results across complex projects.

The role requires extensive experience with NEC, 480VAC/15kV/5kV equipment specifications, and coordination with discipline leads. On-site startup support and mentoring are included.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD is required.
• Certification is not required at this level.
• 25+ years of relevant industrial electrical/instrumentation drafting/design experience.
• Familiarity with NEC and ability to perform calculations (lighting, voltage drop, loads).
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray; size wire and protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and technical direction to a team of designers.
• Deliver electrical/instrumentation deliverables on time and within budget.
• Lead design efforts and serve as a technical specialist on complex projects.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Produce 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specifications and installation documents.
• Coordinate with clients on scopes and design changes.
• Lead planning of training and professional development.
