Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with 6+ years of industrial electrical/instrumentation design experience. The role involves leading small to mid-sized projects, producing detailed designs, equipment specifications, and installation details for 15kV/5kV systems.

The candidate should be proficient in CAD (AutoCAD/MicroStation), familiar with NEC, and capable of coordinating cross-discipline teams. Strong communication and field support are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
• Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill.
• Ability to determine MCC loading.
• Ability to develop equipment specifications and installation details.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with department design and drafting standards and project scope.
• Coordinate work with staff and discipline lead; act as discipline lead on small to mid-sized projects.
• Produce estimate-level designs and material take-offs for projects.
• Prepare 15kV/5kV equipment specs and electrical installation specs.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to optimize solutions.
• Check vendor drawings for electrical/instrumentation input and conformance to specs.
• Provide field data collection during site activities and support construction.
• Furnish sketches and details for complete engineering drawings; communicate design changes.
