Job summary
Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking a senior Lead Designer to supervise a team of designers and deliver comprehensive electrical and instrumentation deliverables for complex projects in Houston. You will ensure on-time completion within budget and maintain quality standards, serving as a technical specialist and mentor.
You will guide scope, design criteria, and client interactions, produce 480VAC and 15kV equipment specs, coordinate with other disciplines, and support startup
Qualifications
- 25+ years of relevant electrical and instrumentation drafting and design experience.
- Familiarity with NEC and industry codes.
- Ability to estimate construction quantities and costs.
- Ability to lead and mentor a design team.
- Strong communication with clients and cross-discipline teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead designer supervising a team of designers and providing technical direction.
- Deliver electrical and instrumentation deliverables on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced drafters and coordinate with staff.
- Produce 480VAC equipment specifications with engineering review and approval.
- Produce 15kV/5kV equipment specifications with engineering review and approval.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to insure design integration.
- Support on-site startup and field interactions with clients.
- Develop project schedules and man-hour budgets and review progress.
- Mentor staff and participate in training and development.
