Job summary
Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking an experienced Lead Designer to supervise and direct a team of designers in electrical and instrumentation drafting. You will deliver complete equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, layouts, and installation details for projects, while guiding junior staff and coordinating with other disciplines under general supervision.
The ideal candidate has 12+ years in industrial electrical/instrumentation design, NEC proficiency, and hands-on CAD experience
Qualifications
- Requires 12+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
- Familiarity with the NEC and ability to size components for lighting and power systems.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Microstation; 3D AutoCAD preferred.
- Ability to develop equipment specifications for 480VAC and 15kV/5kV systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide technical direction to a team of designers.
- Deliver electrical and instrumentation deliverables on time, within budget, and meeting quality expectations.
- Produce installation details, MCC single lines, layouts, and grounding, and cable schedules.
- Mentor subordinates and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure coordination.
- Assist on-site during startup and communicate project status and delays.
