Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a senior Lead Designer to supervise a team of designers and provide technical direction for electrical and instrumentation deliverables. The role focuses on on-time, within-budget project execution with strong engineering discipline and client interaction.

The position requires extensive NEC knowledge, experience with lighting calculations, conduit routing, and equipment specification development for high and medium voltage systems.

Qualifications

• Requires 25+ years of industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Familiarity with NEC codes and standards.
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations and wire/conduit sizing for lighting and power.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations and route conduit/cable trays.
• Ability to develop equipment specifications for 480VAC and 15kV/5kV systems.
• Ability to prepare construction quantities and cost estimates.
• Strong teamwork and cross-discipline coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to a team of designers and lead design efforts.
• Deliver electrical and instrumentation deliverables on time and within budget.
• Produce 480VAC equipment specifications with engineering review and approval.
• Produce 15kV/5kV equipment specifications with engineering review and approval.
• Provide on-site startup support and client interaction on technical matters.
• Mentor junior designers and coordinate with multiple disciplines.
