Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Designer to drive industrial design efforts and lead a team of designers on complex projects. The role focuses on safety, quality, and schedule adherence across multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in industrial E&I design, strong NEC knowledge, and hands-on experience with medium-voltage systems, PLC/HMI/DCS, and 3D design. This on-site position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent experience in engineering technology or drafting.
10+ years of industrial electrical and instrumentation design experience preferred.
Experience with NEC and electrical one-lines, equipment layouts, cable routing, lighting, and power distribution.

Responsibilities

Lead the electrical and instrumentation design efforts for industrial projects.
Coordinate and oversee a team of designers to ensure quality deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Develop and review electrical diagrams, power distribution, lighting and grounding plans, cable schedules, and control panel layouts.
Coordinate with engineering, process, mechanical, civil, and instrumentation teams throughout project execution.
Interface directly with clients regarding project scope, technical requirements, and design solutions.
Support field activities and startup efforts as required.
Mentor and develop junior designers while providing technical leadership within the department.
Assist with project planning, staffing forecasts, schedules, budgets, and construction cost estimates.
