Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations using data analytics, Lean tools, and engineering methods. You will lead CI projects, support start-ups and expansions, and coach teams in value stream mapping, Kaizen, and lean governance.

The role interfaces with management and operations, requires strong data analysis and change-management skills, and offers opportunity to influence safety, quality, and cost performance across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing; or Master’s with 5+ years.
• 7+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing; related experience.
• MS Office Suite with Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio (Expert).
• PowerBI/Tableau data visualization; SQL/DAX (Intermediate).
• Leader Standard Work, Visual Management, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S (Intermediate).
• Core engineering/data analysis: slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics (Advanced).
• CAD and WMS tools; exposure to automation solutions (Advanced, Preferred).
• Lean Six Sigma (Required); cPMP/ISO/QMS (Preferred); APICS/SC Certifications (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes and identifies gaps.
• Leads high-impact CI projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Coaches teams in CI, QA, and Lean principles; applies engineering methods and layouts.
• Supervises CI engineering and quality professionals; participates in hiring and performance reviews.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; sustains improvements.
• Reports progress against site objectives and recommends supply chain strategies.
