Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to apply continuous improvement methods across operations. You will identify, lead and drive change using data analytics, CI, engineering and automation to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.

Interface across all levels and functions; may manage CI resources. You will coordinate Value Stream Maps, Kaizen events, and sustainment through to results, coaching staff on lean methods and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing.
• Master’s in Industrial Engineering, MBA, or SCM with 5+ years experience.
• Expert in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Data visualization expertise in PowerBI/Tableau; SQL experience preferred.
• Knowledge of PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Lean methods.

Responsibilities

• Collects data, analyzes processes, and documents gaps; drives CI plan to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost.
• Manages high-impact CI projects; supports startups, retrofits, expansions; coordinates with account management.
• Demonstrates engineering methods, Lean tools; coaches staff in CI, QA, and Lean concepts.
• May supervise CI engineers and QA staff; participates in hiring and performance management.
• Leads Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; coaches lean methods across teams.
• Provides regular data reports; recommends Inventory/Supply Chain strategies.
