Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer for Continuous Improvement to drive data-driven CI across operations, working with Lean tools to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage CI projects, and mentor others in lean practices.

The role interfaces with multiple levels and may supervise CI resources. Strong data analytics, engineering methods, and QA experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or supply chain with 7+ years of related experience.
• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management with 5+ years related experience.
• Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio
• Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX)
• Proficiency in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems and PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Workplace Organization
• Understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics) Advanced

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis to identify process gaps and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Manages high-impact CI projects and supports start-ups, retrofits, and expansions including pricing inputs and go-live certifications.
• Coach on lean methods and lead Kaizen events including A3 charter ideation and sustainment.
• Provide regular data reports and recommendations to improve site objectives and supply chain strategies.
• May supervise CI engineering and QA professionals and participate in hiring decisions.
