Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to champion continuous improvement across the operation. You will lead data-driven CI, apply engineering methodologies, and drive changes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

You will interface with diverse teams and may supervise CI resources, reporting to the CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager. Key responsibilities include data collection, statistical analysis, value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and cross-functional project leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with relevant experience
• 7+ years in warehousing, transportation and/or manufacturing
• Proficiency with MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Data visualization and DB programming (PowerBI/Tableau, SQL)
• Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, and core engineering/data analysis functions

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes; identifies gaps and drives continuous improvement
• Leads high-impact CI projects; supports startups, retrofits, expansions; interacts with account management
• Coaches on lean methods; applies slotting, labor standards, layouts, and flow optimization
• May supervise CI/quality professionals; participates in hiring and performance management
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; sustains improvements; reports progress against objectives
• Provides regular data-driven reports and suggests inventory/supply chain strategies
