Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to advance continuous improvement across operations. You will drive data-driven CI, apply lean tools, and lead cross-functional projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as stated; seven+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering data analysis and Lean/CI methods.
• Proficiency in PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S.
• Experience with CAD and warehouse design tools; familiarity with WMS and labor management systems.
• Strong data analytics and ability to lead complex CI projects.

Responsibilities

• Collects data, performs statistical analysis, maps processes, and identifies gaps to drive value.
• Leads high-impact CI projects across the operation, supporting startups, retrofits, and expansions.
• Coaches teams in lean, quality assurance, and CI methods to achieve sustained results.
• Develops and executes Kaizen events and value stream maps to improve metrics.
• Provides regular progress reports and makes strategy recommendations for site objectives.
• May supervise CI engineering and quality professionals and participate in hiring decisions.
