Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to advance the Continuous Improvement culture across operations. You will apply data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to deliver higher performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth, while interfacing with employees at all levels across the operation.

This high-influence role may supervise CI resources and reports to the CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager, aligning with a General Manager or Director of Operations to sustain value creation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 7+ years’ related experience.
• 7+ years in Warehousing, Transportation and/or Manufacturing.
• Microsoft Office Suite with Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio (Expert).
• Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and SQL experience.
• Proficiency with Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, PDCA, VSM, Kaizen, 5S/Workplace Organization.
• Core engineering and data analysis skills (slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics) advanced.

Responsibilities

• Collects data, performs statistical analysis, maps and documents processes and identifies gaps.
• Drives high-impact CI projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Coaches teams in CI, QA & Lean principles and supports automation opportunities.
• Supervises CI engineers and participates in hiring and performance decisions.
• Facilitates Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events and sustains improvements.
• Reports progress against site objectives and advises on inventory/supply chain strategy.
