Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to manage all functions of the job site for home construction, from permit to closing, while delivering customer service.

You will schedule and supervise subcontractors, conduct homeowner walks, and ensure compliance with safety and building standards. Responsibilities include coordinating the construction schedule, inspecting workmanship, approving payments, and maintaining clear communications with homeowners and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years related experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans.
• Knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive between communities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and deliver high quality homes on time and within budget.
• Schedule subcontractors for all phases and verify workmanship meets plans and codes.
• Complete each home site from planning to occupancy, meeting contract obligations.
• Inspect work and halt noncompliant activities; authorize subcontractor payments.
• Oversee customer experience during construction and provide regular progress updates.
• Maintain site cleanliness and overall appearance during construction.
• Manage post-close warranty process and address warranty requests.
• Coordinate with sales and management to ensure proactive issue resolution.
• Work additional hours as needed to meet business needs.
