Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to manage all functions of the job site during home construction, from permit through closing.

You will schedule and supervise subcontractors, conduct homeowner walkthroughs, and oversee inspections to ensure safety and quality standards are met. This role requires coordinating multiple home builds, maintaining budget, adhering to building codes, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the construction and post-close process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of related experience in construction or site supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings and specs.
• Must have a vehicle with valid driver’s license and be willing to drive between communities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule, ensuring high quality on time and within budget.
• Coordinate subcontractors for each phase and verify workmanship and compliance with codes.
• Complete each home site from planning to occupancy, meeting obligations.
• Inspect work and halt noncompliant activities; authorize payments when standards met.
• Oversee customer experience throughout construction and communicate progress to homeowners.
