Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent-IS to manage multiple home projects from permit to closing, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring quality and safety on site. You will guide homeowner walkthroughs, monitor schedules and budgets, and maintain strong communication with buyers and internal teams.

Ideal candidates will read blueprints, manage costs, and uphold high construction standards across communities, with flexibility to work extended hours as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years related experience in construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans.
• Knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes.
• Strong communication with customers, management and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction schedule and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Schedule subcontractors and evaluate quality per codes and standards.
• Complete homes from planning to occupancy meeting obligations.
• Inspect workmanship and halt nonconforming work.
• Authorize subcontractor payments after inspections.
• Oversee customer experience and provide progress updates.
• Maintain site cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Coordinate warranty post-close and resolve requests.
• Communicate openly with sales, warranty and management.
• Work extra hours as needed.
