Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. in Knoxville, TN seeks a Superintendent to manage all functions of the job site for home construction from permit to closing. You will schedule and supervise subcontractors, conduct homeowner walks, and ensure safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 2–4 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read construction docs. Strong communication and DRH Construction app proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years related construction experience.
• Ability to manage and complete the 13 Milestones of Construction (JDE).
• Must have a vehicle and valid driver's license to travel between communities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer-focused.
• Proficient with MS Office and email.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Schedule subcontractors and evaluate quality and efficiency.
• Complete each home site from planning through occupancy.
• Inspect workmanship and halt noncompliant work.
• Authorize payment of subcontractors after inspection.
• Maintain the customer experience throughout the process.
• Ensure site cleanliness and visual appeal.
• Monitor post-close warranty process and resolve issues.
• Maintain knowledge of building codes and DRH practices.
• Collaborate with sales and warranty teams for issue resolution.
