Job summary
WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Technician in Colorado for electrical testing and commissioning in substations and high voltage systems. Responsibilities include leading field operations, coordinating with engineers and subcontractors, and mentoring technicians to ensure safety and quality on site.
Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with protective relays, high voltage testing, and use of test sets such as Omicron and Doble, as well as familiarity with
Qualifications
- Minimum of 11 years of experience in electrical testing
- Experience with transmission, generation, or distribution relays
- Expert knowledge of testing electrical distribution, generation, and transmission projects
Responsibilities
- Leads field operations for complex construction projects with expert technical guidance
- Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and subcontractors to ensure efficient field task delivery
- Mentor technicians and manage site logistics while communicating with project leadership
- Lead field readiness planning, including tool inspection, site access, and weather contingency measures
- Act as senior field representative in regulatory inspections and client walkthroughs
