Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis with a nationwide reach, seeks an Estimating Manager for the Critical Infrastructure Group. You will oversee day-to-day estimating, ensure accurate takeoffs, and align with regional leadership, sales, and Pre‑Bid teams to drive quality bids across complex infrastructure projects.

You will guide design-build inputs, manage workloads, mentor estimators, and deliver data-driven insights. A bachelor’s degree and 5–8 years in bid/construction are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years experience in bid preparation, sales or construction.
• Experience estimating and projecting for budgeting.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of houses and buildings.
• Strong computer skills.
• Professional certification preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily estimating operations for all project types and complexity levels.
• Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely material takeoffs across the regional estimating team.
• Assign and monitor project workloads, balancing capacity across teams and regions.
• Review complex and high-visibility takeoffs for accuracy and completeness.
• Guide design-build projects with material recommendations and constructability input.
• Collaborate with sales leadership to develop strategic bid approaches.
• Mentor and develop estimators; provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Provide regular reporting on productivity, accuracy, and team performance.
