Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis, seeks an Estimating Manager for the Critical Infrastructure Group to lead daily estimating operations and ensure accurate material takeoffs for nationwide projects.

You will partner with regional leadership, sales, and PreBid teams to drive consistent practices, support strategic bid pursuits, and advance design-build engagement across multiple project types.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of estimating experience in water/wastewater, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects.
• Experience supervising estimating teams.
• Design-build support and value engineering experience.
• Experience working with contractors, engineering firms, vendors, and sales organizations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily estimating operations for all project types and complexity levels.
• Ensure estimators interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents according to standards; validate takeoff accuracy.
• Assigns and monitors project workloads, balancing capacity across teams and regions.
• Provide technical direction on material selection, constructability considerations, and alternative solutions.
• Collaborate with regional estimating, sales, and engineering teams to ensure scope clarity and unified practices.
