Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis with nationwide coverage, seeks an Estimating Manager for the Critical Infrastructure Group. You will lead all day-to-day estimating operations, ensuring accurate takeoffs, and driving strategic bid pursuits.

You will supervise the estimating team, collaborate with regional leadership, sales, and PreBid teams, and implement quality controls to ensure standards are met on complex design-build projects across nationwide infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in estimating for water/wastewater, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, or leading estimating teams.
• Strong experience with design-build support and value engineering.
• Experience working with contractors, engineering firms, vendors, and sales organizations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily estimating operations for all project types and complexity levels.
• Ensure estimators interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents according to standards.
• Implements quality control processes to validate takeoff accuracy and reduce risk.
• Guides teams on design-build methodology, material recommendations, and early-stage project input.
• Coordinates with the PreBid team to resolve specification conflicts, RFIs, and scope discrepancies.
• Supervises the full estimating team including Estimator I through Lead Estimator.
• Reviews workflow data and capacity dashboards to inform management decisions.
