Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis, seeks an Estimating Manager for the Critical Infrastructure Group to oversee nationwide estimating operations and ensure high-quality takeoffs.

You will manage workloads, validate complex takeoffs, and drive standardized practices across regions. The role partners with regional leadership, sales, and Pre‑Bid teams to support strategic bids, design-build input, and vendor/equipment recommendations, while coaching estimators for technical proficiency and career

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in estimating for water/wastewater, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects.
• Experience supervising estimating teams.
• Experience with design-build support and value engineering.
• Experience collaborating with contractors, engineering firms, vendors, and sales organizations.
• Experience implementing standardized estimating practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily estimating operations across project types and complexity levels.
• Ensure accurate, consistent material quantity takeoffs and workload balance.
• Review complex takeoffs for accuracy and completeness.
• Guide design-build methodology, material recommendations and early-stage project input.
• Collaborate with regional estimating, sales and engineering teams for scope clarity.
• Lead coaching, mentoring and career progression for estimators.
• Provide regular reporting on productivity, accuracy and team performance.
