Job summary

Deckers Brands is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect, AI and DTC Technology to shape a composable DTC and AI platform across brands and regions. You will balance enterprise standards with innovation, drive governance, and own the target architecture for ecommerce, OMS, CDP, and payments.

You will lead architecture modernization, mentor teams, and define multi-year roadmaps, focusing on risk, performance, and customer experience. Remote-US opportunities available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in enterprise or solution architecture within retail, fashion, or consumer goods.
• 3+ years hands-on experience architecting AI and ML solutions including generative AI.
• Proven MACH and composable commerce experience with microservices and API integration.
• Experience evaluating AI and commerce platforms for capability, TCO and risk.
• Familiarity with retail/fashion and the consumer journey from discovery to service.
• Extensive multi-cloud knowledge (AWS required) with scalable, secure architectures.
• Strong AI/ML architecture knowledge including LLMs, RAG, vectors, MLOps and guardrails.
• Proficiency across DTC tech stack: ecommerce platforms, OMS, CDP, loyalty, payments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate enterprise DTC and AI architecture vision aligned to business goals.
• Define governance policies and an AI review process for use cases and production readiness.
• Create and maintain a multi-year DTC and AI roadmap with milestones and risks.
• Own target architecture across ecommerce, OMS, inventory, payments, CDP, and personalization.
• Champion MACH principles to enable a flexible, API-first, cloud-native architecture.
• Modernize legacy systems toward cloud-based, API-driven architectures.
• Define enterprise AI reference architecture including model access, orchestration, and observability.
• Establish responsible-AI controls covering bias, privacy, model risk, and compliance.
• Lead and mentor architects, engineers, and AI practitioners; track KPIs and trends.
