Job summary

STR is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy real-time processing software for advanced radar systems. You will work with researchers and engineers on multi-disciplinary teams to implement DSP architectures and lead efforts across the signal processing chain in challenging environments.

The role emphasizes leadership, architecture, performance analysis, documentation, and collaboration with STR management and customers.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise implementing real-time signal processing solutions in C++ (C++17 or later).
  • Experience with radar/electronic warfare concepts and DSP workflows.
  • Background in RF platforms and hardware/software integration.

Responsibilities

  • Support and/or lead development of innovative radar/EW systems through DSP implementation.
  • Architect, design, and implement embedded software in multi-function, deployable systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive system requirements and specifications.
  • Research and lead new embedded software implementations; refine technology roadmaps.
  • Communicate solutions clearly to team, STR management, and customers.
  • Design and implement signal processing and software components for radar systems.
  • Conduct performance analysis via simulations and real-world tests to optimize performance.
  • Prepare design docs, test plans, and reports; ensure maintainability and reuse.
